Yesterday 3/ix/22 I waited 2 hours before I got to talk to anyone. The day earlier I waited over an hour. Meanwhile I was worried my battery on my landline telephone was not going to brand information technology. The lady said they hired twenty more people but it seems that did not help my state of affairs of trying to attain them sooner. I don't know whether to go to a new provider if that is happening everywhere because of Covid. However we don't have to article of clothing our masks anymore so I don't know what the issue is at this time. Purely disgusted. They requite me a call yesterday to rate the service with the lady simply not the situation I am facing.

I've chosen countless times, emailed through the portal, etc. I've waited on hold for literal hours--once I was offered a callback but that never came either. Finally decided to try my luck at the patient portal submission...over a calendar month afterwards I finally received a very obvious response which is why I was calling in the get-go identify TO Enquire QUESTIONS. I don't empathize why the art of getting to talk to someone has completely gone abroad. I'm not an idiot...I read my statement of benefits explanation but I have follow up questions and believe I'chiliad beingness charged incorrectly.

Later moving to a new state country, nosotros immediately applied for a new health insurance policy through CareFirst. It has been over a month of continuously calling and speaking to multiple agents giving usa inconsistent data on if they received our lease and utility bills for proof of relocation or non. This is later faxing and emailing this information on more than one occasion. It is very concerning to see how a company operates when the simplest things like enrollment cannot be done in a straightforward way.

I have a high deductible programme with CareFirst. I also had breast cancer and found out in Oct of 2020. I can tell you based on my experience, their refusal to pay for things could have had a very negative impact on my intendance. I'1000 lucky that I'grand ok now, but I'grand not sticking with CareFirst because I want to live, and they don't care if I do not.
My first complaint is that I've spent shut to $13K on healthcare when I should have been covered. I'm counting this deduction in my salary and I'm non going to piece of work for a visitor where I'1000 getting paid 13K less, and so I will get out my job at the cease of the yr. I say this so any visitor because a Carefirst high deductible plan should know, your staff like me, may get out every bit a result.
2nd complaint - They could have killed me. They delayed me getting my Oncotype and BRCA Gene Chest Cancers examination results by refusing to pay for them. Looks like they eventually paid $100 for the Oncotype and zero for BRCA. Both of these tests are mutual and important in treating breast cancer and have a significant touch on the treatment plans and timing. Had my Oncotype indicated an ambitious tumor, the ii-month delay in getting those test results could take allowed an aggressive tumor to metastasize. I'm lucky, my results were good, only for someone with an aggressive tumor, that two-month delay could be the difference between life and death. Added note I paid $700 for the BRCA tests, which doesn't fifty-fifty become against my out-of-pocket costs maximums. It'south just more money from me.
They likewise continue refusing to pay for Proton treatments, which I'thou guessing I'm going to exist paying an additional $2.5K out of pocket for. Proton treatments are very mutual treatments for breast cancer every bit they cause less impairment than traditional radiation treatments, and are covered by most insurance carriers including Medicare. Of course, BCBS doesn't care if I live or dice because my company will only replace me with another worker that will pay their premium. Until they get frustrated and quit the company as well.
In conclusion: I exercise not recommend them. If you apply for a task with CareFirst as the Medical, I would turn down that job.

Beware of Carefirst Bluecross Blueshield. Delight read this complaint, so you volition choose another supplemental insurance carrier. My mother, Eileen ** passed away in Oct 2020 at the age of 97. She had CareFirst for decades as her supplemental health insurance. I reported her expiry to CareFirst, Wells Fargo and Wesbanco and airtight those accounts to prevent any future fraudulent monthly billing. Care First assured me that I was due a refund for the rest of the month. I told them that my mother's credit card was inactivated. CareFirst said they would transport a refund cheque. Wells Fargo assured me that her credit carte was immediately inactivated and there would be no further transactions allowed.
In February I realized I had received neither a refund nor a alphabetic character of condolences from CareFirst. In the following three weeks I fabricated many calls. Each time I was told by the person I spoke with that they would get back with me. I requested to speak with a supervisor with iv unlike agents. My requests were denied. Finally, I was told I had to complain to Wells Fargo. Manifestly, CareFirst sent two refunds of $838.87 and $half-dozen.91 to Wells Fargo in December. Wells Fargo told me to contact CareFirst and simply take and so rescind their refunds and so transport me a bank check. Further conversations with CareFirst again was only a waste of time. They accept never provided me with any written or verbal response, indicating why they would not ship a refund as promised.
How tin can CareFirst upshot a refund to a credit card to a member's credit card after she has passed away, and they credit card has been cancelled? It is their responsibility to effect a refund to the appropriate party. Information technology is pitiful the mode that CareFirst has treated me. and the My female parent spent tens of thousands of dollars over 30 years and now they will not send a refund. Tony **

I pay out of pocket for CareFirst insurance. My ID carte has the dentist and location on the carte. I went to have services done on September 15, 2020. I checked the CareFirst website and noticed the claims for a routine cleaning was denied. On October 6, 2020 I contacted CareFirst and was told I went to a doctor out of network. I explained that was not truthful, I went to the location on my menu. The rep stated he volition be sending the claim back through and it would have 7 to 10 business organization days. 10 business organisation days after, I called back because zilch changed on the website. That rep stated she was putting the claim through again and it would take 7 to 10 business organization days. Ok 10 business days later withal and issue and I calls dorsum. This rep states she is sending it through once again and claims tin take 15 to 30 business days.
Ok hither we are 23 business organisation days in and non one indication that they are working on this issue. I owe a pecker that I should not be owing and I need further piece of work done just can't because I owe a pecker that I should not owe. Now, equally I type this I am on hold waiting for a supervisor and the rep keeps stating no supervisor is available. Well sir, guess what I will concord. I am not hanging upwards until someone does their job. This is ridiculous.

Exercise NOT try to get a "Gratuitous routine concrete" from BCBS CareFirst. You lot will open yourself up to many many many bills from services and billing parties y'all never heard of conjuring up reasons to have your money. They are crooks and grifters. When information technology comes to wellness care in America NOTHING IS FREE NO MATTER WHAT THIS INSURANCE PROVIDE GUARANTEES. My doctor's office used the wrong code to bill me, the 3rd political party billing visitor put my address in incorrect. And all of these errors/mistakes were my responsibility to fix. It took me viii hours of phone calls and paperwork and runaround to avert most of the bills, just they are notwithstanding coming. I get a new bill from a new mysterious company every calendar week from a routine physical that should be covered and "Free". Information technology is not. It is a lie.

It is a HDHP HMO with PPO out of expanse. You can't beat the BCBC provider network and predictability of costs with co-payments instead of coinsurance. CareFirst has a dandy network where I live in the Washington, DC metro surface area. The merely downside is their client service is below average.

I recently submitted a claim and afterwards submitting, received the popup with the reference number and also received electronic mail. Now, being the offset time I split the claim in instance something went wrong, didn't want to put all the eggs in one basket to so speak. When I logged back in to create another claim I notice in that location were no submissions shown that I had entered. I contacted tech support and while prissy enough were not able to recover it ... fine, I'll do it once again.
The second time I may have entered the incorrect address, home accost instead of clinic address. I emailed to encounter if they could bank check. While waiting for email I created a second claim. When I eventually received electronic mail I was told once submitted no corrections could be made, not even the address. They then said it appears I already resubmitted the claim. I wrote back and explained no I didn't resubmit the claim, they are two dissimilar claims. I then received an email dorsum stating that at that place is no way to cancel a claims submission and the merits will be candy twice, one volition deny equally a duplicate. Get-go time using CareFirst support - not remotely impressed! -Rick
